At Transcending Path Counseling & Therapy, we work with you to identify the causes of depression. We dig deeper to unravel the core challenges causing the depression. Sometimes depression is a cascading effect of multiple issues and causes. After we identify the real issues such as how the individual processes information, the client’s worldview, the client’s belief system, etc. After identifying and processing the real issues causing the depression, we work putting things together and dealing with unhealthy or unproductive thoughts. We also teach the client additional coping skills as needed. The goal is for the client to “feel” themselves again. At the end of the therapy, our goal is that the client will develop the confidence to live a life that they dictate for themselves and have the skills to overcome life challenges in a healthy manner. This is what we call self-efficacy.
